The number of Muslims in Korea is very low. Until 2005 no separate category of Muslims would have been considered as a religious group. Currently, the number of Muslims in Korea is estimated to be 2 lakh or 0.4 percent of the total population. Most of them are immigrants coming from Muslim majority countries and few Muslim Muslims in Islam are Muslim.
According to a local Islamic website, there are currently only eight mosques in Korea. In contrast, the number of Protestant churches is at least 30 thousand. There has been some Islamophobia among the Koreans because of not being familiar with Islam and due to organizations like al-Qaeda or IS.
The Korean Christian organization and their media helped spread Islamism among the Koreans by propagating the number of Muslim people growing up among Koreans and planning to Islamize Korea by adopting methods like halal food or excessive childbirth.
But in 2016, "News N Joy" unveils reliable information data and reveals these propaganda of Christian organizations against Muslims. As a result of Christian propaganda, the production of proposed Halal food in ECSAN City also receives negative publicity. Despite negative and controversial propaganda, Eixon Halal Zone is playing the role of attracting Muslim visitors to Korea. South Korea is trying to attract tourists including Central Asian and Southeast Asia, after China canceled the Muslim tour in 2017. It is his continuity to arrange the place of prayers in Halal Food Production, Airport or Large Shopping Mall.
Money from Muslim countries has played an important role in accelerating Korea's economic growth. Korean construction companies are working in mid-to-mid-mid-70s. Through the Korean construction company in the formulas, the tender was received from Central Asia in the Middle East from 8.2 billion dollars in 1980. Currently, the Korean Settlement Company is working on several big projects in the Saudi Arabia, including the Burj Khalifa, Barakah nuclear power generation center in the UAE.
Islam vs. Protestantism:
Prior to the expansion of Islam in large areas in Korea, another external religion has to keep an eye on the successful spread of Protestantism. Although Catholics were persecuted for a century in Korea, Protestants entered very well in the country in the year 1980. Protestants entered Korea through the Western missionaries, many of whom were doctors and initially established some of their hospitals and schools. Protestants marry many Koreans who have studied in America, and many of the dignitaries get married in their growth. Protestants emerged as a major part of Korean politics in the beginning of the twentieth century and after Partition in 1948. Korea's first president Sanggman Lee is one of them. Since the Protestants in Korea since the 1970s, they got wide expansions and they continued to work with missionaries by establishing a lot of churches in the city's suburbs.
Is there a similar extension of religion in Korea in Islam? It seems to be a tragedy for some reasons.
First, the Koreans are now in a very tough position since Protestants came to this place 140 years ago. Korea's economic position and lifestyle are comparable to the world's first-rate country.
Secondly, many of the Muslims in the country who live in Korea are hardened like Sodi Arab or Iran, or like Lodges like Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia. Which is incompatible with improved living standards.
Thirdly, the Conservative Protestant organization and their media watch over the entire Muslim community and they will resist any kind of exposure to Islam. The reason for these Muslims of minority communities proves their headlines, if they increase, they will resist it at any cost.
Fourthly, both pork and alcohol-Korean culture are one of the two things prohibited in Islam. Korean wine or sweat with pork in Greece is the source of their daily joy. They are involved in big business of wine production company.
The reality is that the number of Muslims in Korea is increasing. According to Hanbool Ilbow, the number of Muslims increased 54 times in the last 50 years. When the Korean Muslim Federation was formed in 1965, there were only 3,700 Muslim writers here. It increased to 2 million in 2015 But the majority of the numbers are foreigners from the Muslim countries. However, the current position of Muslims in Korea has brought them from a very small religious group to a better level.
