The urgency to address climate change has never been more palpable, and organizations like The Climate Initiative (TCI) stand at the forefront, rallying passionate individuals to effect change. At TCI, the emphasis is not just on combating climate change but also on empowering the voices that will lead this charge.

The Spring 2024 cohort of LEAF (Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, and Fellowship) Fellows marks a pivotal moment in TCI’s quest for proactive and collaborative individuals to join their mission. The program, designed to nurture and mentor young adults, presents a unique opportunity for those eager to dive into the climate movement.

What is the LEAF Fellowship Program?

The LEAF Fellowship Program is a cornerstone initiative at TCI, offering paid employment and immersive professional development. It’s a platform that doesn’t just train but also mentors individuals, cultivating a cadre of young leaders passionate about climate action. Fellows work within specific departments, gaining profound insights into the multifaceted operations of a non-profit organization.

The Spring 2024 cohort is seeking fellows passionate about Youth Engagement, Marketing and Communications, and Programs. This unique focus allows participants to delve deeply into these areas while gaining exposure to the broader spectrum of TCI’s operations.

Who Can Apply?

For the Spring 2024 cohort, the LEAF Fellowship is open exclusively to U.S. applicants. However, TCI encourages international candidates to apply to their Ambassador program and remain vigilant for future international opportunities as the organization’s mission expands.

Equity and Justice at the Core

TCI recognizes that climate change is inseparable from issues of equity and justice, disproportionately impacting marginalized communities. Their commitment includes amplifying the voices of historically excluded groups such as Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian, Pacific Islander, low-income, disabled, LGBTQ+, undocumented individuals, and others. The goal is not just to amplify these voices but to collaboratively confront the systems hindering their representation.

Joining the Movement

At TCI, the aim is not just to combat climate change but to foster a more inclusive and equitable approach to environmental action. The LEAF Fellowship Program stands as a beacon, inviting passionate individuals to be a part of a movement that doesn’t just talk about change but actively works towards it.

The Spring 2024 cohort beckons—young minds ready to make a difference, to learn, to grow, and to lead in the fight against climate change.
