The dark side of Social Media

in opstopcensorship •  7 years ago

It seems that people believe the Dark and Deep Webs are the only places where danger lurks and is hidden away.

Well that little fantasy is popped when actually cases stemming from "innocent" online play show otherwise.

Sadly, the social media sites, that these cases were involved with, try thier best to overshadow the negativity with some wonderful new update, feature, user interface and control, promotions, etc, to divert the publics eye.

Behind every other post, video, chat, private message, picture, backstage, gif, meme, is some atrocious act that goes unknown to most people on there.

Even videos of violence are shared as if they were some everyday occurrence. Society had become numb by the coldness of cyberspace and are fed honesty without the actual truth behind it.

The exposers of these lies and cover ups go in anonymity so that the truth gets out, yet no fame nor props are given to them.

They become victims of the social media algorithms that supposedly "help" keep the public safe from falsehood and manipulation.

Those brave warriors are the victims of censorship, while the ones they hunt are free to lurk around the loopholes.

But they will never stop!

They always will be here!

If one or two fall, many more will take their place!!
