Optimism, The Truth

Dear Everyone,

Optimism is not something inside you. It is something within all of us, at the same time.

Optimism is when people come together to lift the world to a better place, optimism is believing in something better.

For the longest time I have been told that optimism is an attitude, and because I had an independent attitude driven by a lot of vision, I was labeled negative and not optimistic. I now know this was wrong.

Optimism comes from seeing a better way and doing all you can to make that better way happen, even speaking up and standing against entrenched power centers. Optimism comes from the word optimum or best. In the last fifty years we have associated optimism with an attitude. This has been detrimental because we now politicize optimism. We idolize some we think have optimism while we demean those with ideas and vision. What is more important, a person with a false attitude or a person with ideas, vision and purpose?

So here is a voice of hope. If you see a better way before the rest of us, just know this, your optimism is what you see. It will get you through hard times. You may be required to stand alone, but the rest of the world will catch up. Just be patient and persistence.

My optimism is a vision that sees a more decentralized world, a world with more innovation, more leadership, and more freedom. Please, comment on what drives you. You never know when others will jump on board and give you support. And when they do, vision turns to pure optimism, something within all of us, at the same time. This is why we are all on Steemit, it's a better world with Steemit.

I am with you. I believe the world is getting better and better. We have more freedom and opportunity now than we have EVER had. It is an amazing time to be alive.

Truth and freedom are what drive me. However, truth is not always seen as an attribute of optimism. The general population say they want truth and truthfulness, especially within our governing bodies. Then immediately throw preverbal stones when the "truth" does not meet their optimistic expectations.

I completely agree. I like your perspective on optimism and how it could simply be an idea to create something better. If you put everything into that idea it will give you something to hold onto even when you are all by yourself. As long as you are genuinely trying to create something better you are an optimist. It is really hard for some people to understand because they do not believe the same things as we do, so what we believe will be better is not what they think will be better. That is why there is so much conflict in the world today.
