From foster home to homeless shelter: a relative of Tina Fontaine ages out of care

Here I will write about a relative of Tina Fontaine who I had wrote me a couple of letters about her cousin Tina as well as growing up in care.

She said she was getting nervous about aging out of care as she did not have a home of her own. Many group home kids age out of care but are often in a independant living program that gets them a place. Many group home kids get age of majority money when they get out of care. None of these were going to happen for this youth she was told she was a level 5 kid.
How was she to reform when they do little to help and even less to empower?

This girl was recently re-traumatized by the trail in which Cormier walked free. Her cousin Tina was pulled out of the river and this has caused much pain for the her. She said she got into a arguement with her foster mom. She said she went to see her worker and was told that her worker did not have time to speak with her. They gave her 2 bus tickets and told her to go to the salvation army homeless shelter. She went from foster home to homeless shelter. A month ago CFS had her as a youth at risk of being sexually exploited now they place her where sex offenders live as well as many sex trade workers.

While at the homeless shelter she was mugged for her phone and called the police but the police said there is nothing they can do. She asked if they could use GPS and they said no only if she was missing. The person the robbed her punched her in the chest and pulled a knife on her. We should be able to track down who did it as there are few blacks with tattoo's on their face in this city. She said she was offered meth by a few people there but said no because she doesn't know any of them.

This is not ok.

How can CFS say they protect children when stuff like this happens to many of the children they take from parents?

How can they toss a relative of Tina Fontaine into the streets after everything she and the rest of the Fontaine family have been through?

How can CFS declare her at risk one week and put her at risk the next week?

How can they continue to walk into work with their heads held high ignoring the damage they cause or fail to help in?

How can teachers in schools continue to capitilate to these self righteous child traffickers?

How much longer are we as a city are going to sit and wait for change?
