Micah was a minor prophet contemporary of Isaiah and prophesied among other things the destruction of the city of Samaria and its Kingdom for its sins, and in particular its idolatry, and the disregard for the fear of God.
But like all prophets he also gave rise to hope, many of his visions referred to the birth of Jesus, this is the reason of why this prophet had a lot of influence on the Christian religion.
And in a particularly important oracle the prophet explained that everything is subject to the divine providence; and that God in his wisdom deprived of vision, common sense, and spiritual knowledge to all those who do not know the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), and the fools who ignore this spiritual truth are destined to fail explained the prophet Micah.
It is very likely that the passage that describes this spiritual teaching is referring to Sennacherib's siege of Jerusalem, a foreign military invasion that failed due not only to the command of the Lord but also to the courage of Hezekiah and the prophetic vision of Isaiah.
With these words, the prophet Micah exposed the oracle:
"But now many nations
are gathered against you.
They say, ´Let her be defiled,
let our eyes gloat over Zion!´
But they do not know
the thoughts of the LORD;
they do not understand his plan,
that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor" Micah 4:11-12.
In very simple words the prophet like a spiritual sentinel explained that a nation clinging to the law of the Lord cannot be destroyed, the prophet wanted to teach the nation of Israel the importance of the fidelity, and that evils can be avoided, if men act sensibly. Because as the prophet taught with wisdom, those who love God are blessed: "But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might" Micah 3:8.
