One of a interesting phenomena in Orchids, they live in mutualism with "fungus",through which both the partners are benefited when live together. The fungus helps the orchid plant in their 'germination '..Depending upon the species variation, their longevity is different. Some healthy plant survive for 20 or more years also..
THREATNING UPON ORCHIDACEAE FAMILY AND OUR EFFORT... TO RESCUE ...
Only praising it's beauty can not help the species to survive .It is hard to believe that the "ecotourism branch"to some extent responsible for declining it's sustainability., and also environmental hazards also fuel up in it.. Large numbered of specimen collection for research purpose, projects also brings threatening towards this beautiful family.. So, if we want to combate from such situation we can collect the seeds of some endangered species for future preservation..
Thanks for reading so patiently my above writings upon this precious family.. of plant kingdom.
