Organ studio moments

in organmusic •  6 years ago

Today 5 people played in our organ studio at church. The first one was a geography student who is working on the trio piece from the 19th century. Needs a bit of work with hand crossing.

The second was an oncology professor also playing a trio. In a trio each hand takes one voice and the feet take the bass. He needs to learn to slow down to be more precise.

The 3rd was a lady English teacher playing Bach's prelude and fugue from memory. I thought it sounded really nice. A few more weeks and she will be ready to play it in public.

The 4th one was a biochemistry researcher who among other things played a theme from Twin Peaks. Very nice idea for our upcoming concert.

And the last one was an older lady from IT center. She came after not playing for several months. I was impressed how well she remembers things on the organ.

Should be a solid concert in May.
