The born of Oriental Hub, a brand new HK-based community supporting Project! 一個以香港為基地的社區計劃 – Oriental Hub誕生了！

It is a sharing post of @orientalhub, a new project that I am involved.

Last week, I felt very excited. It seems like I am having a new start in Steemit! 這是一個我有參與的計劃，@orientalhub 的分享。
這幾天我很興奮，我彷彿就是在Steemit重新開始，在短短一個星期內， 我和不同的Steemians共發起了兩個計劃，兩個長期的計劃！四天前，我和@kona, @perlia, @livinguktaiwan 及@naosesame發佈了Steemit第一個中國唐詩介紹計劃《樂筆詩墊》：https://steemit.com/poetry/@aaronli/chinese-culture-project-the-first-project-to-promote-chinese-poetry-on-steemit-is-now-online-steemit

In the post, I also shared some experiences of my steemit life. It’s already 10 months since I joined Steemit. Steemit is a good place for me and worth spending time. However, I see many old and new members of HK community just leaving Steemit. The reason is obvious: 1. We have no whale in HK Community. User cannot get good payout easily. 2. New users don’t get good care. Most of their posts only have few upvote. They are just like talking to themselves. Around 1 month ago, I started to think of if I can do something for the HK Community.

I was just thinking of writing a website to introduce Steemit with some tutorials. And I met @honoru and @prch. @honoru just joined Steemit in March. At the very first time he didn’t there are HK members. One day he saw my posts and left a reply and then I pulled him to the HK group. Although he was new, he discovered the problem of the HK community: conhesion to hold new members. He asked me some questions about the status of Steemit and also get advice from old HK user @htliao.

And @prch. @prch joined Steemit in December last year. Same as @honoru, he soon discovered the problem of the HK community. But he actively met steemians from all over the world. The HK-JP-SG experimental cross-community cultural contest, the first event of Oriental Hub, was linked up by @prch. He also asked @htliao the status of Steemit HK. And it is the founding of Oriental Hub. When one day @htliao was talking about it, I just said having a meet up to talk about it. Then, we had the first meeting last Monday.

當時我也分享了一些在Steemit的心路歷程，在Steemit都十個月的時間了，慢慢建立個人風格，也認識到一班朋友，我覺得Steemit是一個好地方，很值得參與。但同時，我在這十個月的時間，看到很多新老用戶，尤其是香港的，來也匆匆，去也匆匆，一來，香港沒有大戶，不容易得到好的收益，二來，新用戶們沒有得到很大的關注，我看到他們的文章都是只有幾個upvote，就好像自己跟自己說話，所以約一個月前，我就開始在想，能不能為香港社區做點事情。

本來我還在想會不會寫個網站介紹steemit，或是寫幾篇新手文教學一下，但還未實行的時候，我身邊出現了兩位steemian，@prch 及 @honoru。先說 @honoru，他是今年三月才加入steemit的，本來他不知道steemit有香港人玩，在偶然的機會下見到我的文章並留言，我就把他拉到香港群組了，雖然他只加入1個月，但很快就發現了香港社區的問題：凝聚力不足，留不住新人，當時他請教了我很多steemit的現況，也問了香港老手@htliao很多意見。

然後是@prch，@prch是上年十二月加入的，同樣的，他很快就看到香港社區的問題，不過他沒有放棄steemit，反而很積極的認識世界不同地區的steemian。Oriental Hub的第一個活動，香港日本新加坡三區聯合文化挑戰，也是他發起的，當時他就是向@htlaio請教了一些事情。在這個環境下，其實Oriental Hub慢慢在成形中，直到一次不知道我跟@htliao在談什麼，我說，既然大家都想做一些事情，不如就見個面吧！
就這樣，我們在上星期一有了第一次meetup。

We formed the Oriental Hub in the last meetup, a project aiming at giving support to the HK community and wish to extend it the other communities. We don’t have resources. We only have four members: @htliao, @honoru, @prch and me. We are not trying to lead the HK community. We just want to give some support to Steemians if we succeed. And we want to change the mindset of steemians: earning SBD is no doubt an important element of steemit. But it is not the only element. In Steemit, we can build up community, meet new friends and encourage communication between cultures. They are also the important elements, even above earning SBD.
Steemit should be the easiest platform of crypto. We will also host offline events and introduce crypto to people through Steemit. 就是這次meetup，我們訂立了Oriental Hub，一個希望幫助香港社區，以至協助其他社區的計劃。計劃初期我們沒有什麼資源，只有4台始創人：@htlaio, @honoru及@prch，我們不打算要做什麼香港地區龍頭這些老派東西，我們只希望如果能發展下去的話，可以幫助到更多的Steemian。我們還希望改變一些觀念：來steemit要賺SBD，那是固然的事，不過在Steemit賺SBD未必是最重要的事，建立社區，結識朋友，增進交流，也許同樣重要，甚至比賺錢重要。還有一樣就是，Steemit應該是現在最容易入門的區塊鏈平台了，透過steemit及Oriental Hub，我們同樣會辦一些線下活動，讓更多人認識區塊鏈。話不多說，大家可觀看 Oriental Hub的介紹文：https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@orientalhub/a-steemit-driven-entity-based-in-hong-kong-aiming-to-bring-out-talents-and-synergy-amid-cross-community-collaborationswithout

It’s just one week since the last meetup. We already have our account, an introducing post and also the first event! It’s all depends on the amazing execution power of @htliao, @honoru and @prch! I am just a small potato haha. @prch has been starting to connect different communities to support our first event. To be honest, I am still confused about the future of Oriental Hub. How to support communities? There seems to be a lot of things that we can do but it also seems to be difficult to finish each of them. Luckily, we hasve @htliao, @honoru and @prch. Everything is smooth.

We wish you may support the project. I don’t want to say how good the project is. But if the project can really be successful, it can be a sample to other communities. Besides, please feel free to drop us any comments. There are many things that we didn’t notice. But I believe that you are the one who point it out. We need your help!

老實說，就我已言，我仍是對Oriental Hub的未來感到很大的未知，到底如何協助社區，好像很多事情可以做，但又好似每一年事情都很難做到，幸好有@htliao, @honoru及@prch三位在這裡，讓事情變得順利。最後，我很希望大家能支持這個計劃，我不敢很大口氣的說這計劃很好，但如果在未來這計劃真的能成功的話，說不定它真的可成為其他社區的參考。還有，就是希望大家能多給點意見了！當局者迷，有很多事情都是你們才看出來的，我們需要你們的幫助！
