Charlie's sitting up in bed, eyes closed. Dr. James enters.

                          DR. JAMES
Mr. Leonard. How you feeling today?

                          CHARLIE
                Good enough to go home.

                          DR. JAMES
Good. We'll be discharging you later
                today.
                     (Beat)
But, before we do, I need to set you
up with an appointment to see a
                Gastroenterologist. I'm concerned
about your liver tests. Your heavy
drinking may be catching up with you
                sir.

      Charlie's heard it all before.

                          DR. JAMES (CONT'D)
Since we reap what we sow Mr.
Leonard, please, no more alcohol or
                non-prescription drugs until we can
get a better idea of what's going on
                here. OK?

                          CHARLIE
                     (Cheeky)
                Sure.

                          DR. JAMES
                     (Frustrated)
Not a strong vote of confidence there
                Mr. Leonard.

Charlie brushes comment off. Doctor smiles.

                          DR. JAMES (CONT'D)
The nurse will fill you in on the
                details.
                     (Beat)
                Good luck sir.

Boston and Curtis enter, Curtis looking at takes on cell,
they find a table and sit. Through patio doors Boston sees
ALLIE, 28, 5'8, a beautiful young woman, mature, confident,
knows what she wants, sitting at patio table. A younger
looking woman is sitting with her, Grace, 5'8", a pretty
girl, uninhibited, sense of humour, more street sense than
      Allie and her close friend.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                Hey, there's Allie!

      They huddle.

                          CURTIS
                Wow. You know her?

                          BOSTON
                Kinda.

                          CURTIS
                     (Frustrated)
So do you or don't you?

                          BOSTON
Yeah. Seen her around. Said hello.

Curtis urges him on, tests Boston's sexuality.

                          CURTIS
So go! Invite her to your show.

Boston hesitates. Allie sees him, smiles, waves.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
See that? She smiled at you!
                     (Elbows him)
                Go! I'll get us coffee.

      Boston hesitates. Curtis pushes.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
                Go!

Boston heads out, reluctantly, awkwardly. Curtis goes to
      counter to order.

EXT. ROOSTER COFFEE BAR PATIO HAMILTON - CONTINUOUS

Boston's nervous, flyer in hand, approaches.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                Hi again.

Stands, nervous, rolling up flyer more and more tightly.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                Uh, do you remember me?

      Before she can speak...

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
Boston? My name. Not the city.

                          ALLIE
                     (Smiling)
                I remember.

      She turns to Grace.

                          ALLIE (CONT'D)
                This is Grace, a friend.

                          BOSTON
                     (To Grace)
                Hi.

Boston settling down, unrolls flyer, holds it out.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
It's for my show next week. Maybe the
                two of you can come?

They look at it, uncomfortable silence. Boston again jumps in
      before they can speak...

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                     (To Allie)
Come... and I'll sing a song, just
                for you.

Both smile, enjoy his awkwardness. Boston jumps in again...

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                No! Better still.
                     (Excited)
I'll write you a new song and sing it
                for you!

                          ALLIE
                     (Politely)
                Well, we'll see.

      Boston's let down.

                          BOSTON
                Oh. OK.

Looking for a way out, embarrassed, acts up-beat.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                Good then.
                     (Beat)
                Look, sorry, but I can't stay. I'm
having a meeting inside... with my
                manager.

He points. Allie looks past him to see Curtis.

                          BOSTON
                So, see you! Bye.

Boston retreats awkwardly. They watch him go.

                          GRACE
                He's cute!

                          ALLIE
                Yeah. Worth checking out.
                     (Beat)
                You got a pen?

Grace pulls one out of nowhere! Hands it to Allie.

INT ROOSTER COFFEE BAR HAMILTON - CONTINUOUS

      Boston returns, embarrassed, sits down.

                          CURTIS
                That sounded so desperate!
                     (Mocking)
                "I'll sing you a song".

      Gets under Boston's skin.

                          BOSTON
                Screw off.
                     (Defeated)
The whole thing was stupid anyway.
                She's not gonna come.

      Curtis taunting, hinting too.

                          CURTIS
Geez! You and girls... I don't know!

      Server sets down two Americanos.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
                     (To Server)
                Thanks.

      They sip their drinks.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
So, we'll cover the washrooms and
bulletin board in here and then
another two dozen poles down the
other side of the street, OK?

      Boston nods yes, Curtis sips.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
                Then we're done.

      Boston nods yes, still upset.

                          BOSTON
                I'm such a friggin' dork.

                          CURTIS
                You are!
                     (Sarcastically)
                But a good looking one.

Boston gives Curtis a sour look.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
                Whoa! Heads up. Incoming.

Allie and Grace enter from patio, both up-beat. As they pass
      by...

                          ALLIE
                See you.

Allie lays flyer, folded up, on table.

                          BOSTON
                     (Nervously)
                Yeah. Bye.

The women exit. Boston's anxious, should I or not look?
Curtis picks up camera. Starts shooting.

                          CURTIS
                The flyer stupid! Open it.

Boston unfolds flyer. No reaction. Holds it up for camera.

                                                           CUT TO:

P.O.V: CAMERA. Written in pen. "Looking forward to my song",
      Allie.

                                                           CUT TO:

Curtis shows glimpse of jealousy. Boston's awkward.

                          CURTIS
                Looking good.

                          BOSTON
                I guess.
                     (Concerned)
Hope I don't screw it up.

Boston stares at the flyer. Curtis shooting.
