                          CURTIS
                Where you been?

                          BOSTON
Bulldog game, hit a diner after, a
few drinks before closing. I'm a bit
                buzzed.
                     (Smiles)
                Charlie's treat.
                     (In amazement)
Geez! He's got a ton of great
                stories.

                          CURTIS
                     (Sourly)
                I bet.

Curtis pauses, takes a deep breathe.

                          CURTIS
So, what's he said about lining you
                up with somebody?

                          BOSTON
                Aah! That's the good news.
                     (Excited)
He's ready to put out a few feelers.
                So... we'll see soon.

                          CURTIS
And in the meantime? You two will
still be hanging out all the time?

                          BOSTON
A lot, yeah. But not all the time.

      Feeling on the hot seat.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
Curtis, I'm just trying to snag a
                break here. And Charlie's helping,
                OK? So back off.

      Curtis is shaky.

                          CURTIS
But that's not what I meant!

                          BOSTON
                     (Testy)
                Then what did you mean?

                          CURTIS
                We never hangout anymore?

                          BOSTON
                Yes, we do!

                          CURTIS
No. You just blow me off.

                          BOSTON
                That's not fair!

                          CURTIS
                     (agitated)
                You just don't get it.

                          BOSTON
                     (Angry)
Of course I get it! You're pissed off
at Charlie for fucking up our thing!
                Right?

      Curtis blows up, angry!

                          CURTIS
No! I'm pissed off at you for letting
                him!

Boston sees the truth, in denial.

                          BOSTON
                This is crazy!

                          CURTIS
                     (Calmly)
You're my best friend. I care for
                you.
                     (Emotionally controlled)
                I love you.

      Boston bromances it. Settles down.

                          BOSTON
                And I love you, but...

Curtis cuts him off, now calm.

                          CURTIS
                No. Listen to me.
                     (beat)
                I love you.

An awkward pause, man to man.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
I'm gay Boston... and I love you.

      Boston's trying to process, confused.

                          BOSTON
                You're gay?

      At a loss for words.

                          BOSTON
                     (Awkward)
                Since when?

Curtis sits calmly, gives him space. Boston's slowly getting
      it.

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
Oh shit Curtis! I'm sorry. That was
                so stupid.
                     (Sympathetically)
Help me here? I don't know what to
                say.

                          CURTIS
                Say "It's OK".

Boston nods his head yes, thinks for a moment...

                          BOSTON
                Yeah. It's OK.

      Trying to think it through...

                          BOSTON (CONT'D)
                Like, I love you too...

      With understanding, picking words carefully.

                          BOSTON
                ...but not that way.

Boston's taken by Curtis' courage. Curtis feels it, moves
closer, reaches out, gently places his hand on the side of
Boston's face. Boston closes his eyes, tries to deal with it.
Curtis places a loving kiss on Boston's lips.

Boston returns the kiss mirroring Curtis. The intensity
grows. They cherish each other. Maybe, just maybe.

Suddenly, Boston breaks it off, looks into Curtis' eyes,
      makes an emotional connection.

                          BOSTON
                Curtis, I can't.

Curtis backs away, upset, feels centered out, getting angry,
shaking his head, trying to hold back. Boston's confused.

                          CURTIS
He's using you, setting you up, just
                waiting for the right time!

      A long awkward pause, awkwardly.

                          BOSTON
                Who? Charlie?

      Curtis nods his head.

                          CURTIS
                He's gay.

Boston shakes his head in denial. Curtis persists.

                          CURTIS
I met him in a bar downtown. I had no
idea he'd show up at Stokers'.

                          BOSTON
                You're lying! You're just jealous.

                          CURTIS
Yeah! I'm jealous. But, that doesn't
                change things.
                     (Beat)
                Charlie's fucking gay.

Boston jumps up waving hands, shaking head no, pacing, Curtis
      stands

                          CURTIS
                Boston! I fucked him!

Boston stands in shock, still in denial, grabs backpack.

                          BOSTON
Fuck you! Fuck both of you!

He tries to leave. Curtis blocks him.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
You had to know! I had to tell you!

Boston, aggressive, tries to push past, Curtis stands his
      ground.

                          CURTIS (CONT'D)
                I'm sorry!! Calm down.

Boston is enraged, finally blows past Curtis to the door.

                          CURTIS
                Boston!

He ignores Curtis, exits slamming the door. Curtis sits down,
      spent, all is lost look.

EXT. STREET HAMILTON - MOMENTS LATER

Boston's running full out, through the night, down streets,
      angry.
