Ah yes, Paradise Lost. Probably my favorite story of all time. It's just got that perfect blend of melancholy and biblical grandeur, man. It's good stuff. Paradise Lost is probably my biggest inspiration, right up there with Dark Souls and the Divine Comedy :^)
Here's a little doodle and a line snatched from Milton himself, probably my favorite line in this book, from when Satan tries to explain himself but Abdiel flames his ass with that divine wisdom.
Sure, angels have potential to be beautiful, but above all the cool things about angels, I love how melancholic you can go with them, and how deeply sorrow is expressed through them. (I swear I'm not a dark person I just like dark things bahaha)
Also this guy had a head at one point but instagram cropped it out, I kinda dig it tho. It suits him
Another cool thing about drawing angels is that you can pose them like drama queens and call it Renaissance
