My sister's birthday just passed, and instead of buying an expensive piece of junk she'd just lose or break in a couple of months, I decided to make her custom logo an put it on a shirt using my Cricut.
She loves to play overwatch, and I guess she streams her games on twitch even. Her favorite characters are D.Va and Mercy and she had asked me previously to design a logo to overlay on her videos using their insigneas. Below you can see the basic flow I went through.
I started by sketching D.Va's insignea first. You can see the rough sketch of the Mercy layer in this photo too.
It didn't take too much tweeking to get the halo and wings filled in and colored.
I bought a blank shirt at a craft store for about $6. I imported my design, layer by layer into the Cricut design tool and then sent them to be cut out, and then used a steam iron to press the vinyl to the shirt.
As you can see, I accidentally forgot to reverse the image when I sent it to the cutter, but since there's no letters or numbers, I figured she would hardly notice.
I hope you all have a good weekend!
