2 robots next to my Rokkor 28mm 3.5 , the rokkor lens standing on the Minolta MD- SOny NEx adapter , and on top the reverse ring that i use very often for @macrophotography. It's avery small and light lens what m,akes it easy to control when you make Macro pictures.

2 Robots with the very small 25mm 1.4 cctv lens , it comes with a small extention ring fro macro, but i prefer to use the standard extension tubes that i already had.

2 robots again this time the image is made with the 25mm 1.4 wide open it gives a fish eye effect, the vignettes in the corner is because the sensor of the camera is bigger then the opening of the lens.

the 25mm 1.4 cctv can be bought on ebay for +/- $30 .- including the right adapter for your lens and including shipping from China this shot is made with f5.6 you see the 2 bots and the Helios 44-2 58mm lens

here you can see the difference between f5.6 and f1.4 (wide open )

sony a6000 + 25mm 1.4 cctv lens f1.4

with the use of the extension tube the distance between the censor and the lens is bigger so the vignetting is less

a small note extension tubes only allow you to get closer to the subject at a cost of light, but it's a poor mans solution for macro.

Cool idea, my friend to present your material (I just love your robots)! I have no experience with extention tubes, only using my macro objective. Maybe I should try it out one day, but will have to learn more about it. 😃

next time i'll make a post about maximum zoom :) just need to find the right subject for that , and maybe i should have used the #photography tag too

Looking forward to that!
Btw: You can always comlete/change tags.

Yes and no. You can change the tags but the first one will always show up in the feed as the mane tag.

Thats correct! :)

This is most interesting and insightful comparison of possibilities of older optics for macro use. You did really great job @stresskiller.

thank you Photo-trail , planing to do more like this , but i might have to move to a new house 1st :)

This is a funny post with the robots! And thanks for this.

thank you :)

Nice narrative, fun way to catch readers attention w the cute little robots :)

thank you Chelsea, it's a tough crowed out there and hard to get peoples attention without talking about sex or bitcoins :D

I love the little robots, but, better than that, I love the way you explain the uses and options for different shots.

Thank you so much and I hope to see more on this!

Have a great evening!

thank you very much Denise , i'm planning to do more shots like this if the weather allows me :D

Awesome!

Awesome. Can you tell me more about cctv lenses? I found this cctv lens but I don't know much about the company--maybe you could share your insight? They have nice smart cameras as well.
