Original Music - Weird One - A Song I Wrote And Recorded Inspired By Hanging Out On Haight And Ashbury

Hanging out at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on the corner of Haight and Ashbury, I was taking in all the diverse people in the city when I got the inspiration for this song called Weird One.

I have learned in life not to judge a book by its cover. Some of the coolest people you'll ever meet sometimes look like someone you wouldn't bring home to meet your parents. This song is a nod to all the strange looking people you'll meet in this crazy life who have a heart of gold.

A few weeks later I had the chance to record it with my band in the studio. We laid it down on a 16-track tape and later remixed it digitally. I'm singing on this track.

The slide guitar has some cool delay on it and when we played it live, people responded very well to it. Everyone would start pointing to each other saying they loved you when we got to that point in the song. Maybe it was just me, but I always got the feeling people would feel and act less judgemental of others after we played this song at our shows, plus it was a crazy mosh pit each time we played it.
