I had booked an event with a new client many months ago, lots has happened in the meantime. I moved 26 miles farther away for one.
So yesterday I got myself ready in plenty of time, I left thinking I was doing really good, then looked down and remembered one of the reasons I left so early was that I NEEDED GAS, so being very near the Kroger where I used to shop, I pulled off the interstate, only to realize
I HAD NO WALLET, no money, no plastic (I have my new paper drivers license in the glove compartment)
In a panic, I turned back (knowing I did not have time to go all the way back to my house) I called a relative about half way, she agreed to loan me $20, I barely made it to the gas station, gassed up and made it to the venue with about 20 to spare (more than my normal 60 min set up time)
I have serious doubts I'll make a return visit there, but then again, who knows?
