The Shape of Water is emerging as the favorite to win the prize in the most important categories at the 90th ceremony of the Academy of Hollywood. The Guillermo del Toro film has 13 nominations from the 24 categories of the Oscar Awards, a ceremony that will take place on Sunday, March 4 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The Shape of Water accumulates important awards such as the Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Awards. In addition, it was the film with the most nominations in both ceremonies, as well as the Bafta awards, to be held in February of this year.

The big surprise of the last awards was Tres Anuncios a las Afueras, which has seven candidacies in the different categories of the Oscars. The success of this film has managed to turn Frances McDormand into the favorite of the Best Actress category. Gary Oldman, on the other hand, has managed to become the name that most sounds to take the Best Actor statuette for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

Guillermo del Toro has already won a great number of awards for The Shape of Water, although Christopher Nolan (Dunkirk) could snatch it from him this time. A risk that does not run Coco, which has maintained its superiority over other films at other times and is sure to be so during the awards of the Academy.
