There were a few changes at the 95th Academy Awards — Crisis Management Team, Check; neutrals, plaids instead of red carpet — but otherwise remained pretty much the same.
The star rating is in effect. This year's rugs are a mix of classic and experimental. Black, white and bold colors dominate in one new look after another. Florence Pugh looked like a punk princess in black shorts and a dramatic cape, while new Disney princess Halle Bay in the upcoming reboot of The Little Mermaid Lee (Halle Bailey) is wearing a light blue sheer dress.
The nominees did not disappoint. Angela Bassett looks every bit as commanding as her Oscar-nominated role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Michelle Yeoh kept us in suspense on every red carpet she walked, wearing dreamy cloud white. Paul Mescal wears a Gucci suit with flared pants. Hong Chau shared her own story of asking Prada to add a turtleneck to her dress as a nod to her heritage.
