Oshiomhole Told Buhari That He Will Lose 75% Of Northerners Votes
Ohiomhole Said That Buhari will lose 75% of Northern votes – nPDP, R-APC
Leaders of the break- away Reformed All Progressives Congress (R-APC) have vowed to teach President Muhammadu Buhari a political lesson in 2019 when Nigerians will elect their representatives.
They asserted that Buhari would lose 75 per cent of Northern votes next year because politicians who worked for him in the region were longer on the same page with him.
Through the National Chairman of the R-APC, Alahji Buba Galadima, the opposition boasted that they have the capacity to swing over 75 per cent of the total votes Buhari got from the North during the 2015 presidential election against him.
Galadima, who has remained upbeat on the position of his group, insisted that the over 12 million votes that the APC won in the election in 2015 was facilitated by majority of those in the current R-APC and the nPDP, stressing that the President is at the risk of losing such votes in 2019 if the nPDP and R-APC pulls out of the APC.
The National Chairman of the defunct nPDP bloc in APC, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, had earlier noted in its list of grievances to the APC and Presidency that the bloc, which moved into the APC in 2014 with the likes of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, as well as five siting state governors among others, were able to swing over 75 per cent of the 12 million votes the party got in the North.
“We are not bothered by the utterances of the APC leadership because we are very resolute on our position to reclaim the party. We are ready for the fight and they know we have the capacity to swing over 75% of the votes in the North.
“It is not in doubt because they know very well that majority of the votes were facilitated by people like us and the members and the nPDP bloc, whose capacity they have decided to ignore at their own risk,” Galadima warned.
But the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, dismissed them and urged members of the party not to lose sleep over the threat.
He said they do not have any magic wand to determine the outcome of the 2019 elections.
Oshiomhole spoke when he received the chairmen of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) from the North, who paid a solidarity visit to the party leadership in Abuja.
According to him, the APC leadership will crush the nPDP and R-APC rebellion, adding that the NWC was reconciling with genuinely aggrieved party stakeholders.
He expressed his excitement on the coming of the defunct CPC group to show their solidarity to the party, noting that people have the right to express their grievances, adding that such grievances must be in good faith.
He described the leaders of the R-APC as “hungry party men who were ready to be used not only to discredit the President Muhammadu Buhari, but to destabilize the APC ahead of the 2019 election”, boasting that their rebellion will be crushed by the APC leadership.
“When people have evil motives, they try to play up sentiments. You know, where they cannot sacrifice ethnic sentiments, they will use religion, when they cannot explain religion, the use the so called nPDP, now we hear R-APC.
“Some of them say they were defunct CPC and they were marginalized; the biggest position in this party is the President, and he came from CPC.
“How are you have the elephants leg and you are still complaining. But when people are looking for excuses, they take to such behaviours.
“When you listen to Buba Galadima, you can see a very hungry bird that is actually dancing and the frustrated drummer is not far away from the bush.
“Despite our challenges, everything considered, APC is much more than all the challenges that we have in any of the states and even as the centre, and by the Special grace of God, we will overcome them. We are already overcoming many.
“I am very confident that we shall crush the rebellion because I am ready to go to any length to talk to people who have genuine grievances arising from communication, misunderstanding or even from error of judgement or from the way we have managed patronage that many people worked hard and they have gotten anything,” he said.
Earlier, the leader of the former defunct CPC state chairmen, Umar Shuaibu, said their visit was show solidarity with the new APC leadership, and insisted they were ready to safeguard the sanctity of the merger that gave birth to the APC.
