Speech

Now I have to first write something that has nothing to do with the topic of my post, to distract, rather not to draw the attention of people who do not have a place here ...nonsense 😄 But now I think I'm ready with it.

So, now back to the real topic...
Have you heard of Zion? Well, not "Zion", but getzion, which actually should mean the same.
Of course, you know it, as I'm usually the last to discover some, long ago invented things (and if it weren't for my boyfriend, I would never have found out about Steemit, let alone used it).

And what do we have here?
We have freedom of speech. At a cost of $ 14 monthly fee.

How does this sound to you? Unfair?
Freedom of speech is a birthright and you don't have to pay for it?

No. I think it sounds honest.
For the first time (well, not for the first time), but at least here it is frankly said that freedom of speech is not a birthright, not on this planet. And you have to pay for it.
And thinking about it, I wonder the following thing: how MZ did not think to do the following with FB - banning all users, but leaving freedom of speech only to those who have paid their monthly fee?
No? Probably that's not possible.
Why?
Because you can't buy freedom of speech. It is not planned to have freedom of speech on this planet. And those network that claim they provide it, make these claims only for benefit. Their own.

What worries me the most about this new, but not so new platform is its name. Because the same people who forbid expressing a different opinion from the imposed and generally accepted one, then make a platform in which they tell you that they are actually fighting for YOUR rights, but they are fighting in such a way that you have to pay them for it.
That's actually such a bright idea and conception for making money, wow!

OK, I know my birthrights don't include questioning these things. But...they are somehow as 'logical' as everything that happens to us in the last few years and require serious consideration.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

Wow, I've never heard of this platform before... people nowadays tend to abuse every right we have, selling it to us later as a privilege...shame on those who support such projects with their payment

The interesting thing is that this is a decentralized network built on Bitcoin. I've read about it two days ago. But how it actually works, well I hope, I'll never find out.
Things on this planet are really very complicated :), aren't they?

Yeah... they definitely are and getting more day by day
but this specific one just seems to be a ridiculus fraud that appeal to naive people

Dunno. Apparently, it is recommended by some famous public people.
But when you think about what had actually happened to FB, what it actually turned into, don't you think that this also applied to it - "ridiculous fraud that appeals to naive people"? Then this network became the standard and became popular all over the world. People who did not use it were considered outsiders. It is a matter of time, influence, strategy and money for one thing to become the standard and people who have a slightly different opinion can easily be called and treated as outsiders. So, it's just a matter of time here.

I agree with your approach

although I stopped using fb after a month or two when the pandemic started and despite the fact that it had already turned into a quite toxic platform I could not tolerate the fact of censorship and that I was giving my data to the enemy in order to sell it to dark organizations in order to always be one step ahead so they can manipulate the masses

As long as people don't develop their own critical thinking they will always be manipulated by following the trends

I still use it, although I tried to delete most of my pictures and all the personal data, even most of my posts which would give an insight into my personality. And even if it fights against it, this network is actually still a great informant for me because it gives me real information about what's going on around the world, having friends here and there in different parts of the world. Things that cannot be learned from the media, but you still need to know about them in order to search for them purposefully. That's why I still use it.

develop their own critical thinking

As far as I have seen so far, most people are deprived of the ability to do so. That is why, in principle, I am not optimistic about what awaits us in the future.

I know exactly what you mean
Facebook is so mainstream in Europe that many companies have their customer support on FB and can serve you easier and faster.
For these reasons and to keep in touch with my friends I kept messenger,

Now regarding news... at first I had my insecurities too but I understood that FB is not some independent news authority and that mostly news is just republished

so I made a bookmarked list in my browser of sites that had blogs on FB and visit them directly

but as long as you feel FB serves you and you are not the one serving it... it's all good

it just didn't work for me... in the end I felt that using this platform had more negative effects than positive effects

That is why, in principle, I am not optimistic about what awaits us in the future.

I wish I could disagree on that, but i just can't
