Yesterday I was told that my boyfriend and I were invited to visit his relatives for Christmas.
Great, one might say. Nowadays, when contacts are limited and people no longer meet each other, let alone people "on both sides of the barricade".
It would be great to see these people we haven't seen in a long time. ..
This morning, however, I realized something else.
I have my personal reasons for not liking family gatherings. Especially on such holidays. I prefer to spend them in a calm and cozy atmosphere. In the atmosphere of the house where I live.
And what I also realized today is that the people I will be spending Christmas with this year are actually people with different political views, also with different attitude towards the current global crisis. I mean, their attitude and views are different from mine.
And since these are the two main topics of conversation between people these days, I can imagine what a wonderful Christmas I will have.
I will either have to keep quiet all the time. Or to express my opinion and cause misunderstanding and endless astonishment in the other side.
That's why I'm starting to worry now about what I'm going to do at Christmas and how I'm going to handle this situation.
And I wish you all not to have to get into such a situation and to always be surrounded by people with whom you can communicate.
Because this is the most important thing.
