As an individual, I can be very conservative.
When it comes to society, I'm a liberal.
Why shouldn't we spend more on ourselves? We're a good investment. Why shouldn't I care about us? We may be all we've got. When it comes to the upward limit on how we can group individuals, than can be infinitely many. When it comes down to the individual, there can only be one.
American politics is totally fucked right now, pard my french. We are at the point in our politics where one side can be so hideously awful, that so long as our president wins the next election, we forgive some of the terrible things we might not agree with. I'm looking at you Obomber. (Still leagues ahead of Trump by comparison)
To call it Obamacare is to call it by something that is not its legal given name. That our congress uses these and doesn't bat an eye, scares me. No our healthcare coverage isn't good, we agreed to that. How do we fix it? Don't listen to the news media or your politicians. It isn't their job to inform you. It's yours. That they provide information is certain. That much is their job. Please do not be lazy when doing research. It's fine that people post false and stupid information. There are more good people than bad ones. We all want to be amazing. When even worse people go about to do even worse things, that's when the reality of our governments take over. I want to be able to trust my police officers. I see no reason why they shouldn't have recording devices on them whilst on the job. I assume it'd be on average, helpful. A terrible flaw is an outlier, but in reality it's still part of an average. As this is reality, we can also do things to help soften the blow of whatever these outliers may be.
P.S. outliers isn't picked up by spell check, so I'll try to explain what it is if you need a definition. It's a math term to describe how some things exist way outside the normal realm. God knows what put them there. When you take an average of everything, these things effect it. Take them out, and suddenly things look like they are otherwise suppose to be. In liberal and conservatism, there can be much the same effect. That's where terms like alt right come from.
Now there's another effect I want to talk about suddenly, don't be like my mother where you think because you hear the word science in the word Scientology, it must be good. That's not how this works. To lean left or right even a little is a strange thing to do. Real world politics is not like a weighted countermeasure. If you're not in the middle, you're setting it off a bit.
