You must believe in yourself before you can accomplish anything. Unfortunately, if you have been told that you cannot achieve certain things in life because of your fears, you may remain skeptical and afraid of trusting yourself again. You must first accept the reality that you have been taught lies. If you do not believe in yourself anymore, who will? If you continue to hold on to misconceptions and lies, then nothing will change.
One way to begin to trust yourself again is to look at situations objectively. When you look at something through an objective lens, you will see everything differently. Your fears and opinions will fade into the background and you will be able to see yourself as a complete person. You will also gain a greater appreciation for those around you.
I am a firm believer of personal growth, being a process rather than a destination. There is no such thing as a finished article. Every journey starts with one step and sometimes that step is taking the first step. Overcoming fears is about allowing yourself to trust yourself again. Once you do that, anything is possible in your life.
When you are ready to take your first steps toward overcoming fears, start by asking yourself, "What are my fears?" Then list them in order from most intense to less intense. You can also look up each fear and write down its name. Now you have an exercise to help you in overcoming fears.
