The latest Overwatch animation titled Honor and Glory tells the story of young Reinhardt who is careless and at will. What's the story like?
Blizzard Entertainment provides the latest Overwatch animation to welcome this year's Blizzcon show. The animation is titled Honor and Glory, which recounts Reinhardt's young life while he was still in charge of being a Crusader at Eichenwalde. This story is told very well, even according to fans, short animation Honor and Glory is one of the best Overwatch animation.
Here's the trailer video:
In the beginning of this animation it looks old Reinhardt is in a state of mood when Winston calls all Overwatch fighters back. Meanwhile, Brigitte, daughter of Torbjorn also prevented her from accepting the call. While upset, Reinhardt who holds the Overwatch pin recalls his past at Eichenwalde.
In the time of Omnic Crisis, General Balderich von Alder was actually selected to be a member of Overwatch. He is a good friend of Reinhardt Wilhelm, Lieutenant of the Crusaders. But when they talked about the Overwatch call, all of a sudden the Omnic attacked their base. This forced the Crusader team and Mountain Infantry Battalion (German soldiers) to fight together.
When the war began, General Balderich von Adler and two other Crusaders protected the German soldiers from the attacking Omnic. But Reinhardt stepped forward alone without backing down. His youth was full of energy and stamina, but he was often careless. Despite his reliable use of his combat skills, Reinhardt always underestimated his enemies.
When successfully defeated many robots, all of a sudden the newly emerging Ominc type is OR14. This robot has a stronger strength than other robot troops. Even Reinhardt's drive was able to stop him. Worse, this OR14 can use a laser sword that eventually blinds Reinhardt's left eye. In a state of danger, Balderich came to his aid. He managed to destroy OR14, but his stomach was hit by the sword.
While ambushed by more Omnic, Reinhardt and Balderich fled to Einchenwalde castle, planning to escape. However, Balderich gave the Overwatch pin to Reinhardt, he vowed to protect the castle from Omnic's attack. Reinhardt initially did not want to leave, but Balderich forced him and reminded him that he had to be a shield for his friends.
Upon hearing that, Reinhardt returned to the position to protect the German army. While Balderich is lending Rocket Hammer, defend the castle by defeating the Omnic who invaded the castle. That was Balderich's last action, until he was finally killed from exhaustion and received many attacks. Balderich's body still survives to this day, he was killed on the throne of the kingdom of Einchenwalde.
The story of Reinhardt in this latest Overwatch animation does provide a very good moral value. Although endingnya quite touching, but also provides a very good lesson for fans as well. Are you a Reinhardt fan? If so, then you should see this Honor and Glory short animation.
