Packera aurea

This native wildflower blooms from April to June so they are everywhere at the river right now! They grow up to 2 1/2 feet tall and have a reddish-brown stem.

Golden Ragwort enjoys growing in moist ground along spring branches, streams and in moist. low woods. It occurs throughout the Ozarks. These flowers were found along the Jacks Fork River.

Native Americans, settlers, and herbalists used the root and leaf tea to treat delayed and irregular menstruation and childbirth complications. It was also used to treat the lungs, dysentery, and difficult urination.

Now this plant is considered highly toxic! So don't try any of that at home, kids!

How does a native plant go from healing to toxic? Sounds fishy to me. 🐓🐓

Sounds like maybe it causes uterine contractions, which would be bad if it wasn't time for baby. I'm not willing to try. Haha!!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing!

Hy, please voteback my new post. Thanks :)
