بيرهوف يتطلع للتواصل مع أوزيل بشأن اعتزاله الدولي

أكد أوليفر بيرهوف، مدير المنتخب الألماني أنه لايزال يأمل في الحديث مع مسعود أوزيل لمعرفة الأسباب التي دفعته لاعتزال اللعب الدولي مع منتخب الماكينات.

وقال بيرهوف في تصريحات لمجموعة صحف "فونكه" الألمانية: "أتمنى أن أجد الطريقة التي أجري بها حديثا مع أوزيل".

وأضاف: "أريد أن أفهم الأمور التي حدثت معه، سأواصل السعي للتواصل معه والحديث إليه".

وتعرض أوزيل وزميله في المنتخب الألماني إلكاي جوندوجان، لاعب فريق مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي للانتقادات بعدما التقطا صورا مع الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان، الذي كان يقوم بحملته الانتخابية في ذلك الوقت.

والتقى اللاعبان، وهما من أصول تركية، الرئيس الألماني فرانك فالتر شتاينماير قبل بدء المونديال، لكن القضية عادت إلى الواجهة من جديد، بعد خروج منتخب ألمانيا المفاجئ من الدور الأول لكأس العالم للمرة الأولى منذ 80 عاما.

وأعلن أوزيل، الفائز بكأس العالم عام 2014، اعتزاله اللعب الدولي بعدما شارك في 92 مباراة دولية، وقال إنه تعرض للعنصرية والتمييز، كما شن هجوما لاذعا على راينهارد جريندل رئيس الاتحاد الألماني لكرة القدم.

Bierhoff looks forward to communicating with Ozil about his international retirement

Germany coach Oliver Bierhoff said he still hoped to talk to Massoud Ozil about why he had quit international football.

"I hope to find out the way I have been talking to Ozil," Bierhoff told the Fonke newspaper.

"I want to understand the things that have happened with him, I will continue to seek to communicate with him and talk to him."

Ozil and his German team mate Elkay Gundogan, the Manchester City player, were criticized for taking pictures with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was campaigning at the time.The two players, of Turkish origin, met German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier before the World Cup, but the issue came to a head again after Germany's surprise exit from the first round of the World Cup for the first time in 80 years.

Ozil, the 2014 World Cup winner, announced his retirement from international football after 92 international appearances. He said he was exposed to racism and discrimination and had a scathing attack on German Football Federation president Reinhard Grindel.
