O Glorious Athena

Flowing like gossamer on a gentle breeze
Hair of light and shadow
Always ready in splendid armor
Bringer of glory, bringer of sorrow

You are strength and will
Against aggression and death
Looking down upon us from afar
Fighting beside us in the fields of battle

You are knowledge and wisdom
Shield maiden of Zeus
Who brings honor to his house
In holy and golden Olympus

Always in motion
Quick as the lightning
You challenged the sea itself
For the throne of holy Athens

Athena the mighty
Athena the brave
Virgin born from God’s head
And cried forth the sound of thunder

Athena the maiden
Athena the guide
Who lead Odysseus on his quest
To return home to his beloved and child

Always remembered will you be
Your eternal glory secure
You who heroes did lead to fame
Long remembered after their mortal passing

You are the goddess of the storm grey eyes
Defender of civilization
Patron of civilized art and thought
For whom our songs are sung
