paint protection film (PPF) is a layer of thermoplastic urethane applied to the surface of an automobile in order to protect the paint from scratches, chips, and other environmental damage. PPF can also be applied to other surfaces such as boats, motorcycles, and airplanes. It is typically clear, which gives the paint job underneath a glossy, protective finish.
