How i made this painting to represent a lovely family

IMG_3399.JPG"Yin and Yang/Flower of Life symbol with Koi fish" (40 x 40 inch acrylic and oil on canvas with embossed flower of life with silver metal leaf)

Made this special painting for a friend to represent her family, the black and white koi fish is the mother and father encircling their 3 boys, inside another flower of life symbol that has an imprint of the Merkaba symbol

IMG_3409.PNG

Here's how i would interpret this painting from the macro to the micro:

Starting with the background colors red, purple and yellow.

Red is the color of fire and desire and blood bond with family, also represents energy power and strength, its a very emotionally intense color

Purple combines the stability of the blue color and the energy of the red, it relates to the imagination and spirituality and allows us to get in touch with our deepest thoughts. It symbolizes the union of body and soul, which balance between physical and spiritual energies.

Yellow the color of sunshine, hope and happiness, it stands for positivity, clarity, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, loyalty and joy.

"Cherry Blossoms"

IMG_3399.JPG

Cherry Blossoms are symbolic of spring, a time of renewal, love, purity, beauty, fragility, nobility and prosperity. The blossoms are often used in wedding rituals to insure a happy union of a couple.

"Black Koi going downstream"

IMG_3412.PNG

the black koi fish going downstream is the father, it means that he overcomed the obstacles and no longer fight the current, this color is great for those who had gone through a battle in life and finally made it to a place of strength

"White Koi going Upstream"

IMG_3413.PNG

the metallic white koi fish the mother represent a renewal its like a white blank canvas, ready to be painted, it also represents the peak into the soul, a peak so deep like pulling back your skin. In combined with spots of red and black symbolizes success in you career. The upstream direction means that she iscurrently in a battle or struggle and are still fighting obstacles but wont give up, as she know that eventually she will obtain the strength needed to continue against the current.

"Yin and Yang Symbol" with "The Flower of Life"

IMG_3411.JPG

the Yin and Yang symbolize a dueling sides of all things and a perfect balance and harmony of them. The corcular movement of the fish, represents the belief that all things in life are connected. The Flower of life belongs to sacred geometry which believes that all life is part of a divine geometric plan. All structures known to us are following this plan.

"3 sons encircling the Merkaba"

IMG_3416.PNG

this part represent their 3 kids,( all boys ) with combination of the mother's and father's color. I placed a golden metallic paint, representing a golden moment for the parents as guiding their children and allowing them to discover their own paths with help from each other. Then i placed a straight line now connecting the Merkaba.

IMG_3417.JPG
The word Merkaba is actually composed of 3 separate words. "MER", which means light, "KA", which means spirit and "BA" which means body. Put them together, these 3 words connote union of spirit and body surrounded by light. The symbol which takes a shape of a star is believed to be a divine vehicle made entirely of light. To transport or connect the spirit and body to higher realms!

Thank you so much for viewing my art, i appreciate your time reading what i have to share to the world!

Great post! This is what I would call quality content. Love that you talked about different elements of the painting. It's always interesting to get the artist's interpretation of their own artwork. There's often lots of hidden meaning and symbology that I miss otherwise. Wish my upvotes were worth more because this post deserves more. Resteemed and followed.

Beautiful painting. Is it safe to suppose that you have Japanese influence? I say that not only seeing the painting as a whole, but as far as I know, cherry blossoms are widely used not only in Japanese art but also literature and poetry. Upvoted and followed!

Im a proud Filipino but now settled in california, i loke painting zen type of painting, i meditate but not a buddhist, this passion of painting believe it or not just came out of nowhere, i had no background of drawing or painting since birth, it just appeared 3 years ago when i was 33, and im still surprise to tell you the truth of what i can paint.
