Exploring the representation of elements through surrealist painting.

"elemental beans" 16" x 20" acrylic on stretched canvas

This painting explores how different forms from the imagination can represent some elements found in nature. Fire, water, and earth are embodied by these dangling and intertwining shapes. As I was painting this piece it felt as though each hanging "bean" was a living thing existing in an abstract cellular world. I enjoy using saturated colors and bold lines to create an illustrative aesthetic in this surreal environment.

This is really nice. I reSteemed, upvoted, and followed you today. Welcome to Steemit!

I love surrealist art exactly for this reason. The artist creates his or her own language using universal and personal symbols and the same when it comes to the use of colour. The viewer has to decipher that code to unlock the meaning. No two artists use the same code, it's a wonderful language.

I love your use of color and style! So beautiful! Upvoted for sure! :D
