I like this one too! So, when you say 'oil painting from the kayak', do you mean you took a picture from a kayak and then painted it? Or did you literally sit in your kayak and paint?

I lireally go out and paint- watercolours, acrylic and oil from my kayak. It is a wide bodied recreational kayak though. Very stable on the water. It is the Wilderness Critter. Tom Thomson developed a box to hold his 8 x 10 masonite boards for oil painting. The boards slip into slots so they dont smudge on the way back in to shore. I copied that box.

Oh! Okay. I was having a hard time imagining anyone painting in a kayak, they seem so small. But that shows how much I know about kayaks. Ive never even been in one. That sounds like a wonderful way to spend time! ♥

This is my kayak.... Very stable on the water. Very big opening and I have all my paints and boards in a box that can sit on the floor while I paddle

Oh wow, that is awesome! Im gonna add that to my 'someday wishlist'... We have a couple ponds and rivers around here, and honestly, I don't know why we don't have a boat yet... Painting in a kayak has to be one of the best hobbies/relaxation activities ever!

With the kayak on the calm river it is easy to wedge yourself into the weeds or cat tails so you stay very still while you paint. The only problem is the mosquitos and black flies. I have to wear a hat with mosquito netting - sometimes I get eaten alive and there are many bugs trapped in my oi painting.

Oh those are the worst! I despise biting flies and mosquitos! Around here they also have 'no-see-ums', which are a super annoying, super tiny gnat! They really are hard to see, even when they are biting you and you KNOW they are there!
