Ooly's Chunky Paint Sticks

Like most children, our two year old is artistically inclined and will sit and draw for hours on end if given the chance. Because he loves to color with focus that I don’t see in many adults, we are happy to continually expand his art supplies and try out new tools for his artistic projects.

We found these really awesome paint sticks in the gift shop at Meow Wolf, and having never really seen anything like them, we were inclined to grab a set for our little artist.

Of all the marker, crayon, chalk, and paint sets he has played with in his two years, we think these are his absolute favorite. They are easy for him to hold because of their short, chunky shape. They come in a pack of 12 vibrant colors and their consistency is similar to oil pastels, but a lot less messy. The bright colors of the paint sticks dry almost instantly. My only complaint is that curious toddler hands sometimes like to give colorful tattoos to themselves and the paint from the sticks require a lot of scrubbing in the tub to be removed.

Other than that, these are a great Christmas or birthday gift for any little creative people in your life, and they are fun for the bigger kids too.
