Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan's three-time prime minister, has scored a hat-trick after being ousted from office yet again.

Born on December 25, 1949, into a wealthy family of industrialists in Lahore. He earned a law degree before joining his father's steel company.

Under the patronage of military dictator Ziaul Haq, he first became finance minister, and then chief minister of Punjab in 1985 until he was elected prime minister in 1990. He served the office of PM 1990 TO 1993, from 1997 to 1999, and 2013 to 2017.

In 1999, Pakistan Army seized power, and Nawaz was sentenced to life imprisonment for hijacking and terrorism.

He returned from exile in Saudi Abaria in 2007. In 2013, Nawaz won the election and become prime minister for a third time.

In November of 2016, after he appeared in the Panama Papers, and was dragged to court by Imran Khan who led several protests against him.

In April 2017, in a 2-3 split verdict the Supreme Court passed a preliminary verdict constituting a JIT to lead investigations into allegations levelled upon the Sharif family.

On 28th July 2017, the apex court disqualified Nawaz from holding public office.
