Peshawar is the capital of the Khyber Pakhtunkha province in Pakistan, it is also the centre to facilitate administrative operations for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. The city s on the eastern border of the Khyber Pass right next to the Afghan-Pak border. Peshawar is a very old city rich with culture and historic relevance from the Kushan Empire. Historically Peshawar used to a centre for trading, which was a staple for the Mughal Empire. The city later came under control by the Sikhs in 1818, which eventually left the city under British Raj rule. Currently the city has a population of 1,970,042 according to the 2017 census.
Peshawar is also rich full of Pakhtun and Afghan culture from music, to dance and weddings. A star attraction of the city would be the Peshawar Museum. Founded in 1907 by Queen Victoria, the museum contains a rich history dating back several centuries. Its art style and architecture also make it a popular attraction for engineers to witness. Peshawar has become one of the largest cities of Pakistan, now with the creation of large universities, it has become a centre of education and culture.
