Fasting for autophagy

in paleo-trail •  7 years ago

I just finished another 48 hour fast, from noon Friday til noon today (Sunday).

Not to brag, because it's actually fairly easy to do from a previous ketogenic diet. The conversion over to fueling yourself from your own body fat is almost pleasant. Thinking about how it's benefiting my condition makes it very desirable.

I hope to do it again next weekend, maybe for 72 hours.

For those who don't know, I'm not talking about starving myself, I probably consumed about 3000 calories of my own body fat. This includes all the nutrients and minerals released form autophagy. And, no, it does not slow down your metabolism, putting you into "starvation mode". That's what low calories diets do. If you eat small amounts, you never really switch over to fat burning and so you body has to slow down because it is short on fuel.

Anyway, just posting this for the record, and as a kind of self-encouragement. Good job me!
