Palmistry: What does your LOVE LINE say about you? The basics

Your love line shows how you respond emotionally to the world. It lies above the head line in the unconscious region of the hand. It is an indication of your attitudes toward sex and relationships, how you give and receive love. It's also referred to as your heart line or the line of emotion.

DEPTH OF THE LINE: weak or strong?

The deeper the line, the deeper one feels emotions. A faint line, indicates that a person's emotional life does not run as deep as others, they may be ruled more by the head and fate lines, they may be more indifferent. The deep line indicates a passionate nature and fiery temperament. Do not judge yourself or others on this alone, the hand is a puzzle and a single line or marking should not be taken out of context, a line may not truly match who you are, it's when the reader puts all the pieces together that you are revealed.

A SHORT LOVE LINE

Some books say that when a love line ends under the Saturn finger (middle finger) it reveals a lack of responsibility in relationships. These people don't care to be tied down and a fleeting relationship is just fine, take it or leave it. Other books say that the short line has a similar indication as a weak line, limited in emotional responses, unromantic and rather cool. Still others elaborate that this person is more inclined to take care of themselves first and expects you to do the same. If it curves up to the middle finger they need passion, and have a strong sex drive.

If it's straight and ends under Saturn they need freedom. Freedom and passion are me oriented qualities when it comes to love. A straight line likes their partner to be clear and straight forward, curved wants the partner to intuit needs, and they are more reserved.

A LONG LOVE LINE

Those with long love lines are focused on others needs first, in relationships and friendships. They are idealistic and romantic. A long line ends under the Jupiter finger (index finger). If the line swoops upward and ends at the index finger, this indicates the person is a perfectionist when it comes to relationships, with high standards and expectations. If this person has chosen you, the will be devoted and true to you. They didn't pick you on a whim.

If the line is straight and ends under the index finger, this person is a dependable organizer that everyone turns to when something needs to be done. If the line ends somewhere between these two, not all the way across, not curving but still under the index finger, this indicates an over idealized notion of love, the prince and princess, knight in shining armor and damsel in distress, romantic comedy believer. I have this kind of love line, it's a challenge.

A broken line can indicate the loss of love or a loved one. I once read a man's broken love line and asked if a family member had died when he was a teenager. He told me his father died when he was fifteen. One of the things that makes hand reading such an art (or trick) is that a broken line could also mean a girlfriend broke up with you, or a dream of yours (a love) died and you were forced to move on.

Feathering on the line indicates that the person is prone to distress, second guessing and consternation in matters of the heart. It takes these people longer to recover from heartache. A clear cut line- well, for these souls it's more clear cut and it is what it is and was what it was.

The lower the love line is on the palm, meaning closer to the head line, the more the emotions are tempered by reason. The higher it is, the more spiritual and go by the gut the person is.

These are the basics to the love line. Like I said, it may or may not be a direct hit to who you are, but taken in the context of the hand, it reveals who you are to a good palm reader.

I learned how to read hands years ago and read every book I could find on it. I picked out the things that most books agreed upon. I don't do it as much anymore because people took it too seriously.

Which brings me to...

Lastly, this is a party trick. I wouldn't make life decisions based on palm reading. For me, it's a good way to get to know people at parties! Have fun!
