Hey, here's my entry for this week - sunrise over the Alps in Northern Italy.
I took this picture in a plane shortly after it took off from the airport of Turin. I had to get up very early to catch the flight, but it was worth it when I got to see this fantastic view: the snow-capped mountains and the houses were bathing in the golden rays of sunrise.

For this week I selected this photo from the sunset at Badwater Basin, in Death Valley, California. This photo was 2nd of August, so in the middle of the summer. My car was indicating a 54°C temperature at 7pm. Never I experienced such a heat outside, only in a sauna.
Badwater Basin is the lowest point of North America, 86m (282ft) below sea level. The landscape is only a crust of dry salt.
Amazing is to realize that only 136km (86mi) away is the highest peak of the USA (4421m, 14505ft high)
