Dear Diary: I Like The Tax Reform Currently Going On In My Country

The Tobacco excise tax reform bill was recently passed in the senate and the aim of the law was to give more funding to the Universal Healthcare which almost every citizen in this country is benefiting.

How does the new tax reform benefit me?

Well I mainly use our government insurance for my dialysis and with the law I will in the soonest possible time enjoy added more dialysis sessions from 90 sessions a year to 120.

So I am happy to get a direct benefit because of that additional tobacco excise tax. Now they will also tax liquor and it is just a proposal that I believe will pass as well.

Because actually the main aim of these "sin tax" laws is to discourage people in using vice products that is harming the health of Filipinos considering that the lung problem or disease is the second largest killer in this country or probably the whole world.

But the tax reform law is not only for the healthcare of the people but to fund the infrastructure projects of the Philippine government as well as for its social services so that the country would prosper more for the peace of mind of the citizens regarding their basic needs.
