How to use hashtags in #newsteem - fishingsteemCreated with Sketch.

We're drawing up to going on a year I've been on the block in the chains with you guys. I don't think I've ever really understood how hashtags should (by moral/tribal convention) operate. It was pretty helpful when I saw smoke and realized how they were doing their categories built of a steem clone. In fact, this little gem helped me understand more about the mechanics of steemit than anything I've ever found on steemit has.

Now in #newsteem there's tribes and ish. Oh, and everyone is freaking out and trying to burn steem instead of buying it, which I don't quite understand.

How to use hashtags in #newsteem

See, I don't really know. I'm posting this through #palnet as from what I've personally seen they seem to not only be a tribe but also mostly have their ish together. I think I'm supposed to put that first as a hashtag so I can play their reindeer games and earn their tokens... which in theory I can sell for steem through steem-engine dot something, and then in further theory I can make a wallet on an exchange somewhere and sell my steems for way less fiat than I used to be able to.

In Theory, each post is a harpoon and you might catch the attention of a whale - and apparently those guys have to explain why they upvote what they upvote, and don't use bots or something because then they won't be allowed to upvote you. Should I write a post than nails a couple, well - then maybe I'll be hassled into figuring out how to convert steem to fiat. Meanwhile, whale-a-hunting-let's-a-go.

That's where greed wants us to steer our content creation and curation, innit? Who do you want to see your posts other than those with the most stake in seeing it? What's the prettiest lie we can sell to whales? Not really - but that's what sells the best right, pretty lies? vaporware?

Imagine if you will, discord tying tokens to emoji's

But see, these tribes have their own front-ends - which seem to be capable of content display exclusion. So, while it seems the observed practice is to hashtag as many token names as you can into your posts...really the precision shots only aim at one target - which by moral default should be the front-end you're using - so my first tag for this post will be #palnet

Then, what - #steem because I'm talking about steem or #newsteem because I'm talking about steem after the recent triple-or-something-forking it got, and all the new stuff you can play with now. Let me know when the first assassination request shows up on the workboard guys, we'll call in the dude from Black Mirror.

Now, I called this a fishing post. I did so because I hope to bait the post with enough "correct me if I'm wrong-ness" that the actual best way to use hashtags in newsteem shows up in the comments. So, hope with me and take a look and an upvote there, or fill in the blank of proper tagging protocol in the comments below.

I like topics first so your post could be opinion steem blog... I guess it depends how you have the taxonomy setup for yourself, there are no rules but I think the content and how the tags describe the content is more important than affiliation which is all that tribes are unless purely topical like drug abuse tribe or something they are just little isolation groups playing out of sight out of mind. Not a bad thing but also not a topic hence they are added last and also these are mere guidelines I use for myself and play hard and fast with them as is.
