It has become a yearly ritual, an unpleasant ordeal
As the days grow shorter, the sun’s light dimmer,
A blue fog of depression settles over me like a net.
Seasonally Affective Depressive Disorder, is debated
By some, that it is not a real condition, that it is all
In our minds.
Depression, of any kind is no joke,
Certainly no laughing matter.
Turning on more lights helps, but to be truly
Effective, they need to be of a specific wavelength,
Difficult to find and expensive to buy.
I know I am not alone in this ordeal, so I share my
Thoughts and experiences to show others who
Are experiencing this as well, that they too,
Are not alone. All we can do is endure, carrying on.
One day at a time my friends, one day at a time.
