Creating a profile for my alts

in palnet •  5 years ago

Ever since the tribes started on Steemit, I know a lot of people keep their tribe tokens seperate from their main account. I didn't really give this much thought until recently when I started to use a few of the tribe tags, and noticed some accounts with xxx.pal, xxx.ccc or xxx.rhb upvoting me. I've always kept most of my staked tokens in my main account, but then I figured that's not the most effective way to get the maximum return (I know I know, I'm a slow learner 😢). So this week I decided to move my creatviecoins and realityhubs token to an alt.

I know these are alts for curation purposes only, and a lot of people don't bother with the profiles. Its not like they need to attract followers. My view is that these alt accounts still represent me, so even if no one will ever look at them, I still want to make sure they don't look sad and unforgotten, like an orphan. That's why I decided to give them their own identity. Let me introduce you to @lut.ccc and @lut.rhb

I don't have much creativity inside me, but luckily I found a website called https://hatchful.shopify.com/ to help with that. A lot of the logo makers I've found in the past gives you a really low resolution image and some has a watermark across it, rendering it useless. With Hatchful, you can actually use the logos, and they look professional. You need to provide your email adress to use the service - they've probably sold mine by now, that's why its free. The front page of the site is very clean, though first impression is a bit too clean and simple for a logo design site. They just had some objects on the page, not too much of a design in my opinion.

  1. Creating your logo is really easy. First you choose you business space.

  2. Then you choose the visual style

  3. Next you add your business name, and slogan if you have one

  4. They will ask where you want to use your logo. This is really useful, as you will see in a minute

  5. And that's all you need to do. They will generate the logos, and you get about 100 to choose from.

  6. The great thing about the logo maker, is not just its simplicity. If you feel you want to add your own touch to it, that's possible as well. You can change the font and colour, and in some cases the frame of the logo. This is great for nerds like me, as it gives me a base to work from, and I can make my own changes. For my @LUT.rhb logo, the original frame was square and I changed it to hexagon. I also changed the font. These may sound like small changes, but it's all about creating what works for you.

  7. Once you're happy, you can download the logo. Remember earlier on, they asked where you will be using your logo and I said social media? Based on this information, they provide the logo in different sizes for the major social media websites. Steemit isn't there, yet. Maybe it will be one day. Once you hit download, they will send you all the files in a zip file, that's why you need to provide your email adress.

And here are my alts' profiles. I used the FB cover photo which is too big for the Steemit cover photo. I could have resized it to make it fit, but I think they actually look nice and loud like this, that's why I left it.

Now my alts have their own identity, that's the least I can do for them.

Glad it was useful @erikah!

Very useful tutorial thanks.
Realityhubs is great. Very very well moderated but sometimes a little difficult to work out exactly what they want . Very helpful crew though . Hopefully my 25k staked there should get you a nice upvote so good luck :-)

Thanks!!! lut.ccc is resting right now, she'll be visiting tomorrow ^_^

hahaha I have 1K there as well.....it is actually difficult to keep up these days! I just have @leedsunited on Sortstalk with my stake there but the rest I keep on this account. I spend half the day swapping between the two and claiming 0.000643 neoxians lol
All good clean fun ;-)

That's you!!?? I always think, you don't want to mess with this guy!

Tbh, apart from PAL I have no idea what all these tokens are worth on my post payout , and whether its worth me spamming all the tags. Gonna take a good look at it some time when I have a minute

Marvelous. Particularly like the hexagon shapes :)

Thanks. You should try it out for your alts. Only takes a few minutes

Thanks darling. My alts all taken, has their own characters already. However, this will be useful when my alts need alts 😂

Its a great little helper to add an identity to your alt.

Some point of time you have to make alt account to use different tribes efficiently. The way you show how to make a logo, that's amazing. Thank you @livinguktaiwan for sharing this.

You're welcome!!
