Here We Go!

Today was the day we have been waiting for as I was able to gather some friends and family to help start out move to the new house! It is incredible to see how technology and development helps every thing we do. Getting the tools, supplies and even trucks was only clicks away and with online reservations we were in and out of the rental truck store in minutes! I have never driven a truck so I let someone with experience handle that but it was definitely the best option.

Having plenty of help not only saved time and money, it also made for a great family memory and we took plenty of breaks for refreshments, snacks, and the great meals that were made while most of us were working. These are the day that we remember why family is so important as they typically are those you can depend on and while we always have are challenges at times; family is family. Instead of being a sad day, having family around made it much better and fun.

I continue to be amazed by the amount of things in our house and even I admit that my office had the most boxes of all the rooms in the house. I actually lost count of boxes we have made as I had made about 4 trips to buy boxes over the last 4 weeks. There will also be a number of boxes to be moved our last day later this week. However, it is always about perspective as it all fit in the truck despite my doubts when selecting the largest size available. That was even despite two additional trips to the dumpster in my pickup truck to trash items we no longer wanted and had no takers from those helping. Even my daughter real sized pony from years ago had to go and while I had some heartbreak, we all progress.

Now the fun begins this week as everything is made official. First, the home sale gets done and deciding what to do with the proceeds. While it all happens, transferring all of our utilities without losing any will be something interesting to coordinate. I already found out that I am still under contract with one that can’t be transferred which will cost me about $1,000 in early termination fees! The money pit continues which is why I know that I am not built for Real Estate. That whole experience or adventure will be for a whole other post in the future!

We are still awaiting final dates for all these items which will keep us all on our toes this week so I am hoping that tomorrow is the calm before the storm to allow me some time to catch up on the Steem ecosystem. I have made some moves in investments this week as capital has become available so I am looking forward to share here. Today is also the end of the latest Splinterlands Season so need to catch there as well! The grind never ends!

Can you come and do it all again in a few weeks? I will buy the pizza and beer.

Sure thing! I have become an expert packing things and disposing of the items no longer needed! Too bad the plane ride is too expensive!

Too bad the plane ride is too expensive!

But there will be pizza and beer at the other end!! :D

@newageinv I enjoyed reading your moving story, I think many people have similar experiences. One thing I like to share with you is that I understand that your office had the most boxes. As my small office is closing in on me and I believe family members are secretly storing things in my office.

Same here! I found so many toys, color pencils, and even crafting items which I don’t use! Makes me think about a lock for my next office space!
