Life gets complicated every so often and while I pride myself with discipline most of the time, there are moments when situations require getting off the paths for a short time. The second half of this past month was an example of this as the stress and anxiety caused by so many things happening in my life made it impossible to keep on track across the board. Emotions were volatile and that has always triggered behaviors in me that I am not proud of when it comes to my diet.

Unfortunately, while doing a great job to start the year with a solid diet plan, February ended terrible as I have been eating very bad for the last 2-3 weeks. Having things packed up to relocate makes it difficult to go shopping as we usually do or even cook at home for the family. This forced me to eat out more than I usually would do. Although some places for dining have great options aligned with my diet, convincing the rest of the family to eat somewhere is a tough feat. It may also just be an excuse I make to eat badly when I feel this way. However, we are getting closer to being past the relocation issues so I am already starting to plan on getting my discipline back on track for my health.

As usual, physical activity has never been a challenge for me as I continue to get some type of workout done on a daily basis. This month was interesting as there were many days that the chores around the house of cleaning and packing were just as good or better than some of the workouts I do! Lifting boxes and moving up and down stairs at home have made me realized that I need to incorporate more leg and back days into my weight training! They were days when I was aching quite a bit!

My active lifestyle by choice has continued to make my journey within the @actifit community easier as well. I often find myself more than halfway done after lunch given my morning treadmill walk routine and choices like taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work. I still believe that it is one of the best communities we have in Steem as it provides a way to entangle and actively engage users which improves retention! The ecosystem continues to evolve but Dapps like @actifit will be the key to adding value in the future.

I am hoping that March will be my turning point this year as I am already feeling the impact of not staying the course for my long term health. I am not getting any younger and not changing these routines will have longer term implications that I would prefer to not deal with. With the many benefits of living healthy, I do not want to lose the opportunity while I still have the; making better wellness choices. At least my monthly update makes me track my progress without risk of not being accountable for my health!
