Lord Asano committed Seppuku in other to save Kai and his daughter from being punished by the Shogun.
Ancient feudal Japan, a land shrouded in mystery, forbidden for foreigners.
A group of magical islands home to witches and demons. A Nation of rival provinces, whose lords were ruled by shogun, whose will is absolute.
Peace in the realm is kept by the samurai, master of swordsmen tasked with protecting their lord and their province at all cost.
Should a samurai ever lose or fail his master, he suffers greatest shame in all Japanese society. He becomes a "RONIN".
And yet to know the story of the 47 Ronin, is to know the story of all Japan.
It began with a boy. No one know where he cones from or how he found his way to Ako. Some said he was a changeling, no better than a beast. Many believed he'd been raised by the Tengu, the demons of the forest who had taught him their dark powers and trained him in their lethal arts of killing. The evil he had fled had left its mark upon him.
Lord Asano, of the province of Ako, saved him that day. Seeing something in the boy that Oishi(one of the Samurai) never saw. Lord Asano's daughter(mika), saw it too.
Mika's father allowed the boy to live amongst them, against the advice of his samurai. The samurais believed that the presence of the boy would bring mischief amidst them and their land.
Despite kai's transparency, he was not loved by any samurai.
Mika only saw a gentle boy. Although, he lived as an outcast, kai was determined to repay the love he received from mika and her father, whatever the cost.
Lord kira, master of the rival province Nagato plotted to kill lord asano and have control over Ako. Mika's father was bewitched by lord kira's witch concubine, and committed seppuku. The masterless samurais were banished from the fortress, and oishi was thrown into the dungeon, and kai was sold into slavery in the dutch island.
A year later, oishi was freed and went on to free kai from the dutch island. He reformed his swordsmen and planned to kill lord kira.
47 Ronin, including kai all laid their lives on the line to avenge the death of their lord.
Lord kira was killed, but all the ronin faced death penalty as the result of disobedience of lord shogun.
Chikara (the son of oishi) was the only ronin that wasn't killed, and the shogun pledged never to deny oishi's bloodline from the service of a samurai.
