A Week On PALnetsteemCreated with Sketch.

in palnet •  6 years ago

Congratulations to the PALnet team for reaching the end of the first week in operation. Actually, I guess I should send my congratulations to all Steemians for this accomplishment. We are seeing a new beginning in the capabilities of the Steem ecosystem. The entire team in this process did a wonderful job.

I received my first payout in PAL from a post. This is exciting. I cannot tell what it is from in terms of if there is anything else in there other than the post payment. Nevertheless, it is another step forward on the Steem path.

I am not sure if I have enough PAL Power (PP?) to really get much in the way of curation rewards. This platform uses the 50/50 breakdown. Either way, it is fun to see something new taking off in such a wonderful way.

It is uplifting to see so many things starting to come together. In the past, we saw development operate in "vacuums". Each project was unto itself, operating separately. Now, we are far enough along where what is already created is being pulled together and merge. The convergence of the developments is going to allow for rapid progress going forward.

One of the unique features about Steem is that if there is something that is not liked by a particular group, they are free to go ahead and change it. While the base layer is still coded by those at Steemit Inc and approved by the Witnesses, anything at the layer two is open game. We are seeing the tools being developed to give people that opportunity.

PALnet is the major experiment outside of Steemit.com. This is not just an interface but, rather, a "mini-Steem". It offers most everything Steem does at the base layer with some layer two adjustments. This is what allows for, in the eyes of many, improvements.

The next couple of months are going to be very interesting. We will see more development taking place on many levels. This will provide Steemians with better options and flexibility. The Internet is being remade to allow for personalization. Groups are going to be getting together to form what they desire.

I watched a number of videos this morning so I do not recall who said it but one mentioned how Steem is not what people perceive it to be. There is a lot more to it than most know about. Over the next two months, I predict we are going to see some core solutions provided to the community. These solutions will address long term problems with the Steem ecosystem. Most will not be on the base layer.

While patience is still warranted, it is easy to see where the path is taking us. Many want a centralized message but that is not decentralization. In this realm, think of an octopus as opposed to a snake. We have tentacles going in every direction. The key is flexibility and personalization. It is a platform that can unlock the creative juices of most any individual.

We are just starting to see some of the possibilities in the world of crypto-economics. There is so much more to come.

Most of my post are 'stuck' at 0.000 PAL :S

Can't we earn less than 1.000 PAL?

Pal team is working on adding incremental amounts so you can see when you earn like 0.01 or 0.001 pal so dont worry we arent gonna pull any sort or office space penny fraction heist on ya

Pretty cool! It would be nice to see how much PAL i'm giving when I upvote, I have 350 PAL power and I know that my votes gives less than 1 PAL but I don't know how much I'm giving, 0.1 0.5 0.0001 lol

I really need to watch that movie yet again.

Probably...when they’ll implement decimals

It is my understanding that there are only whole amounts.

I do not know how that works out in payments. Without a site similar to Steemnow, it is hard to see what is being paid out on each post.

Early days of the project, we will see more development around it.

One thing we see from these teams, they do move fast.

From my understanding PalWorld is in the works. :)

I don’t have any tokens but I’m using the platform anyway. Maybe I’ll buy some soon.

Using the platform will also earn you tokens. The idea behind PALnet was to create a system where the Whales didnt have control over all the stake.

We will see how it works out but it is worth a try.

Upvoted and resteemed for more palnet visibility. Thank you @taskmaster4450 for supporting steem and let me suggest we create a steem tip bot for reddit or Twitter to compete with the lightening network tip bots 6hat are hard to even withdraw from... let's make a steem.tipping bot maybe with the help of @tipu

Not sure how they’re going to deal with 1 (or any odd-numbered) payouts until decimal values are introduced.

A related question: Since pending rewards are shown in PAL rather than $, is there anything equivalent to the $0.02 dust threshold?

I do not know. The payouts are still a mystery. Without decimal, is there rounding to the nearest full unit or is anything under 1 PAL dusted?

I have no idea what they do or how they handle it.

Anecdotally, I just got a payout from a post that had been pending at 1 PAL. Of that, I got 1 PAL as author and curator(s) got 0 PAL.

Perhaps that really means we each got 0.5 and adjustments will be made after decimals are introduced???

I wonder why decimals weren’t used from the get go.

I think you bring up a good point. I am not sure why they would not go with decimals from the start.

With this new system, since we do not have a lot of things to track like Steemnow, it is hard to figure out.

I am sure they will adapt and adjust over time.

Hopefully some of these questions are making to @aggroed and he will put up a post clarifying things.

Welcome to the world of ultra early adopter on PALnet.

this is friend, we are living good times. congratulations for your first payment. good luck

something is not working :D i just looked on my first post on pal and i had 12 pal, i refreshed and it got to 10, i refreshed and it got to 9, i refreshed and it got to 8. now i am afraid to refresh it again :D

That seems really odd. I never did that. When I see tokens in there, I download them. 👌

I wish I was at the same level lol but I'll get there ehehe

Work so hard on this blockchain, and we start to see the fruition and the passion of this community to come alive!

Pls spare few words on another dappactnearn

Dear @taskmaster4450, could you please answer those of my questions about PAL?

  1. I upvote a post on https://www.palnet.io and no change happens to the payout value, how Much stake do I need to distribute 0.01 PAL?
  2. What is the read curve?
  3. If I upvote a post on Steemit/Busy/STEEM Hunt etc. Does it count on https://www.palnet.io or do I have to vote through the website to make my vote count?
  4. Can one vote distribute both PALcoin and SPT at the same time?
  5. Are there any important tips that I should know?

I think all these second layer solutions are going to allow for cases to be made to adapt the first layer to popular ways of using Steem.
