Lately I have been feeling a little like my life has just become very monotonous. I go to work, eat the same things, come home, try to relax, prepare for the next day and repeat.
Weekends, not much different. Lately weekends are quite short too, since I have to work on Saturdays.
Since I finally got my computer in order, I was thinking about getting back into more creative pursuits. I've always liked working with 3D "toys", whether its by making models or just collecting them and arranging them in pleasing ways.
Since I had the day off and it's ultra hot outside, I spent most of the day tinkering around on my computer getting it fully up to date and installing more software that I forgot to reinstall.
I also got a much needed desk and chair yesterday which makes actually using the computer much easier and more enjoyable.
I first made this succulent plant today, since I was kind of inspired the other day to do so and challenged myself to see if I could actually accomplish it. I was pretty pleased with the results, so I made another one. I put large versions of them outside the store for fun, and more realistic smaller versions in pots in the front of the store for sale.
I hope to eventually fill the store with all kinds of stuff, but we will see where this latest creativity kick takes me.
After making the succulents, I thought I would really challenge myself and make a "money tree". I was really happy with the results of this one! I also really am happy that I was able to make this all from scratch with completely free software.
The two stone lanterns in the first picture are ones I made last year when I was in a similar creative kick.
I did all the modeling and UV mapping today in Wings3D, and I made the textures in Krita. I made the shop too, but honestly it's not my best work. It's more of a quick placeholder than anything, just to give my plants a space and backdrop and for atmosphere.
If you would like to come check it all out, I'm in Digiworldz on the Varnese sim.
A little aside, but this is my first time posting from Steempeak and I really like it. It would awesome if they could come out with a mobile app with similar functionalities!
