Bavaria from Holland... in Panama

in panama •  6 years ago

I guess I should take it as a compliment, being Bavarian, that there's actually a brewery in the Netherlands that uses "Bavaria" as a brand name. It is one of the three non-alcoholic beers I have found here in Panama, so I drink it quite often. It is pretty decent, too.

I stopped drinking alcoholic beer when I realized I sleep significantly worse after having just a whiff of alcohol. I drink beer for the taste, not fore the buzz- So while I still drink alcohol when the situation requires it, I don't see any reason to drink it when I am just alone at home and want a tast of hops.

Looks like a decent nonalcoholic beer. You are not the first person I know that reacts to alcohol like that.

The price is unfortunately rather high. 85 cents for 0.33 Liters. Local breweries actually don't produce non-alcoholic beer.

I wonder whether this requires a certain degree of wealth in a country that people start even imagining drinking beer that doesn't give them a kick. People here look at me in wonder when I tell them I prefer nonalcoholic beer.

It’s not that common in the US either. I could not tell you the price since I only buy the alcoholic versions.
