The local government or panchayat election in West Bengal ends on May 14. Results were published on May 17. After the announcement of this election schedule, the opposition party's candidates faced the wrath of the ruling party to submit the nomination papers. In the Kolkata High Court, including the Supreme Court of India, has been sued again and again. The Supreme Court and the High Court directed the elections to the 66th round of Panchayat on May 14. In the remaining 34 percent of the seats, the ruling party's candidates won without any contest, the Supreme Court issued a stay on the results. After the next hearing in the Supreme Court on July 3, the elections will be ordered.

Pradip Chakrabarty filed the case yesterday as the election was not being fair. Advocate Supratim Roy on behalf of the petitioner said that before the Panchayat elections, the Supreme Court and the Calcutta High Court directed the West Bengal Election Commission and the state government to conduct free and peaceful elections. But despite the orders of the two courts, the state election commission and the state government failed to fulfill their duties. During the election, looted ballot boxes, hijacking ballot boxes, Chhatta votes, polling booths, bombing, voters coming to the polling station, and the ruling party took refuge in massive terror. In this, 24 people were killed in political clashes. Lots of property losses have occurred. Many voters were injured. So, in this election held, people did not get the right to vote. Accordingly, the applicant ordered to cancel the election and order a fresh election.

The RJI said that the opposition party could not stand in front of the ruling party on the day of election. Even during the submission of nomination papers, opponents of the ruling party could not contest candidates in many centers.

This year's 66 percent seats won 90 percent of the seats in the Trinamool.
