My sweet Bear Boy as a kitten
This is a little different post for me, but I decided to take up @snook's challenge and answer her five questions from #pantsareoptional. So here goes! ;-)
Would you let me slap you for a hundred dollars and why?
Nope. I wouldn't let you slap me for a whole lot more money than that. As I said in a comment on @eveningart's post, I've been slapped a few times, and it never failed to make me lose respect for the person doing the slapping.
I would never submit to that willingly, nor would I choose to do the slapping. I far prefer peaceful communication, I choose peace, and I walk away from conflict whenever possible.
And I too am generous with hugs!
What time do you normally go to bed and why?
Usually way later than I should. Typically, left to my own devices, I tend to go to bed between 3 and 5 AM, local time, because I'm naturally a night person. Have been for decades.
Lately, since I started a new job with first shift hours, I'm getting up between 6 and 6:30 AM, so I'm making an effort to go to bed a whole lot earlier . . . with mixed results. My inner 2-year-old is rebelling, because if I go to bed, I might miss something!
But in the end, I'm finding it far easier to adapt to the time shift than I have in the past, mostly because I really enjoy the people I'm working with, and I'm having fun with it . . . truly a breath of fresh air, compared with so many of the jobs I've held over the years.
I also made the decision to try to shift my inner clock because it is far healthier to live according to natural circadian rhythms, even if they still don't feel all that natural to me.
I know that Ayurvedic medicine, as just one example, strongly advises going to sleep by 11 PM local time, for the best rejuvenating and healing sleep possible.
I am attempting to do just that. With mixed results. ;-)
Favourite day of the week and why?
Sunday. Because I was born on Sunday. And because . . . it's Sunday. Most relaxing day of the week, even when I'm not on a regular schedule. I've always loved Sundays.
What board game do you hate the most and why?
I really can't think of a board game I hate . . . I like most board games, though some I like more than others, but I've never really hated any of them.
My ex-husband seemed to be trying to get all of us to hate Monopoly there for a while, mostly because he is a terrible sport, but most of the time I let it roll off my back. I still enjoy the game as long as I can play with others who are in it just to have fun. ;-)
Then again, I almost never play board games any more, so the question is pretty much moot.
Favorites? Backgammon and chess, in that order.
If you had the world's attention for 30 seconds, what would you say?
Consider consequences. Think before you speak, before you consume, before you act. Consider the ramifications of your decisions, large and small, consider those who will feel the effects the most, and actively try to make your corner of the world a better place, for all, one decision at a time. Thank you.
Enjoyed this! Thanks for the inspiration @snook, and @eveningart!
