What is AD70?

John 11:47-48;
So the high priests and the Pharisees assembled the Council and said, “What are we going to do? This man is performing many signs.
If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and DESTROY both our Temple and our nation.”

Acts 6:13-14;
They had false witnesses stand up and say, “This man never stops saying things against this Holy Place and against the Law. For we have heard him say that this Jesus from Nazareth will DESTROY this place and CHANGE the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

Romans 10:1-4:
Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God about the Jews is that THEY would be SAVED(from the destruction of Old Covenant Israel in ad70). For I can testify on their behalf that they have a zeal for God, but it is not in keeping with full knowledge.
For they are ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God while they try to establish their own(with the Mosaic Law), and they have not submitted to God’s means to attain righteousness. For the Messiah is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness for everyone(Israelites under covenant) who believes.

Luke 23:28-31:
But Jesus turned to them and said, “Women of Jerusalem, stop crying for me. Instead, cry for yourselves and for your children, because the time is SURELY COMING (SOON, Jesus is talking to THOSE women in Jerusalem) when people will say, ‘How blessed are the women who couldn’t bear children and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’ Then people will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’, and to the hills, ‘Cover us up!’ And if they do this when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

The coming wrath statements, judgement statements, the sense of urgency, the warnings of impending doom, etc etc..

It was about Jews and Jerusalem. It was a warning from Jesus about ad70. The sheep and the goats, the wheat and the tares, etc.. all about ad70.. all about the ending of Old Covenant Israel.

"As in the days of noah" meant their entire system, everything that they knew, mass death and destruction, was coming to THEM. Their entire system would be swept away like a flood. It did ultimately in ad70.

The book of DANIEL describes WHAT'S going to happen and that it would be FINISHED before the 'power of the holy people is shattered'(ad70).

Jesus tells THEM all of THOSE prophecies were going to be fulfilled on THEM in THEIR generation.

John shows us, using prophetic imagery in Revelation, the entire story from Jesus birth to the fulfillment of the New Covenant Kingdom.

OUR future is only optimistic. We're in the New Covenant already. We've been in the New Creation since ad70. This New Covenant isn't facing any future ending or destruction.

The New Covenant = Jesus' Kingdom

The Kingdom came.
